A prototype of this concrete is being tested at the Wyoming Integrated Test Center, part of the Dry Fork coal-fired power plant in northern Wyoming co2concrete.com https://www.co2concrete.com/. During a three-month pilot, the team will use CO2 captured from the plant's exhaust stream to produce 10 tons of concrete a day.

They plan to repeat the test at the National Carbon Capture Center in Wilsonville, Alabama in July. The UC team is hoping to use the carbon-sequestrated product on construction projects around the country and in Europe.

The system, known as CO2Concrete, is designed to work with all types of power plants and industrial facilities that use coal or natural gas to produce electricity. It can be installed into existing systems and will require less maintenance than other methods, Sant said.
