Managing Noise While Working From Home
Lately, I’ve been working from home full-time, and one of my biggest challenges has been trying to stop dogs from barking during video calls. I share my space with a German Shorthaired Pointer and an English Cream Golden Retriever, and they both have their own “opinions” whenever someone walks by the window or a package gets delivered.
What’s funny is that they’re total opposites in personality — the pointer has endless energy and reacts to every sound, while the retriever is calm until he decides to back up his buddy. I’ve been focusing on keeping their environment more predictable and structured during work hours, which has helped a bit. Regular exercise and short play sessions before meetings seem to make a difference too.
I’m still figuring out the balance between letting them be dogs and keeping a peaceful home office vibe, but it’s a learning process. Anyone else juggling work life with energetic pups like these?
