nfection with Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes or both
Mostly in young children
Particularly around nose
Erythematous base with honey-colored crusts
Treat with Topical antibiotic
Individuals are highly contagious; Improve hygiene
Gram stain and culture of swab diagnostic
Oral flucloxacillin required for widespread impetigo
