Portable solar panel advice
We do a lot of weekend sailing and anchor out without shore power, so I’m looking into adding a solar panel. Nothing huge — just something to keep the battery topped up when the engine isn’t running. Preferably a panel that’s durable and efficient even on cloudy days. Anyone have a favorite?

Re: Portable solar panel advice
For our weekend trips, we’ve been using the victron 215w solar panel spm042152402 for almost a year now, and it’s exceeded expectations. It’s lightweight enough to store and mount temporarily, yet powerful enough to keep our 110Ah AGM battery fully charged after a couple of days at anchor. Even in overcast conditions, we’re still getting a decent trickle. The build quality is excellent, and it pairs easily with Victron controllers. It’s the perfect middle ground between portability and performance.
