Adding to Carl's response, it's important to note that many companies can fall into both categories, blurring the lines between IT and software. Some IT companies have their own software development divisions, creating proprietary software to complement their services. Similarly, software companies often require IT infrastructure to support their software products and ensure smooth functionality.
