Recently we got a small Yorkie, and I suddenly realized that I know almost nothing about parasite prevention. Before this, we only had cats, and it all seemed simpler. Now the puppy has started itching, and the vet said it’s most likely fleas picked up during walks, even though we don’t walk for long and are careful. Now I’m thinking about how best to set up prevention — drops, pills, collars? I don’t want to overdo it with chemicals, but I also don’t want to risk the puppy’s health. How do you handle this with your small dogs?
