AIO boards versus separate flight controllers and ESCs
I'm putting together a small FPV build and trying to decide whether an all-in-one board is a better choice than using a separate flight controller and ESC. The integrated option seems convenient because it can save space and reduce wiring, but I'm wondering whether there are trade-offs in repairability or power handling. For a compact build, would you prioritize simplicity, or is it worth having separate components from the beginning? I'd like to understand which factors matter most before settling on a particular configuration.

Re: AIO boards versus separate flight controllers and ESCs
An AIO board can make a compact build simpler because several functions are combined on one PCB, often reducing wiring and weight. The trade-off is that a failure in one integrated section may require replacing or repairing the whole board. Separate components can be easier to replace individually and may offer more flexibility for higher-power builds. The right choice depends on the frame, battery configuration, expected current, and space available. You can compare different flight electronics here: Check the rated voltage and current carefully, rather than choosing based on board size alone.

That helps a lot. Repairability is something I hadn't really considered.
