My washer is not spinning
Hey everyone, I’m having a problem with my washing machine. It goes through the whole cycle, but when it gets to the spin part, nothing happens. The drum just sits there like it’s on a break. I’ve tried redistributing the load and even ran it empty to see if that would help, but no luck. I’m stumped! Any idea what could be causing this, and is there a way to fix it myself before I call in for help?

Re: My washer is not spinning
Ugh, that’s so frustrating! There are a few things that could be causing your washer to skip the spin cycle. It might be something simple like the lid switch not engaging properly or a broken drive belt. If the motor is running but the drum isn’t spinning, the belt is a likely culprit. Another thing to check is the drain pump—if it’s clogged, the washer might not spin because it can’t drain the water. If you’re not comfortable poking around or if you don’t find anything obvious, it might be time to call a professional.
