How many employees do early stage startups have?
First, I’ll give a different view on the definition of a startup. Let’s call a startup a company who (typically) takes venture capital (VC) investment. This differs from a traditional new business venture, as the startup is obtaining a larger investment, and at a somewhat higher cost, for the ability to grow and scale much faster, vs. a traditional new business that will only get as much in loans (from bank or others) that they can reasonably be expected to pay back with their operating profit. This might look like growing in 6 months to a year, what a traditional business would grow in 5 years.

When it comes to growing your startup, you might find yourself wondering about the difference between scaling and growing. These two terms may seem similar, but in reality, they're quite different beasts. Understanding the difference between them can help you make informed decisions that will take your startup to the next level.
Let me give you an example like . Imagine you have a bakery that's becoming increasingly popular. You're proud of the quality of your products and the reputation you've built in your community. But you're now faced with a choice - should you focus on growing your business, by perhaps expanding your product line or improving your customer service? Or should you scale your business, by opening new locations and reaching more customers?
That's where the difference between scaling and growing comes in. Growing is all about making your existing business better, whereas scaling is about replicating your successful business model on a larger scale. Both approaches have their pros and cons, so it's important to consider which one is right for your business.
