The Role of MLS Listings in Home Search
Can someone explain why everyone makes such a big deal about MLS listings? I see them mentioned everywhere, but isn’t it just the same as looking on Zillow or Realtor.com? Is there something different about how it works, or is it just another way to find houses for sale?

Re: The Role of MLS Listings in Home Search
Good question! MLS stands for Multiple Listing Service and it’s basically the master list where all agents post new homes for sale. Third-party sites like Zillow pull from the MLS, but there’s sometimes a lag or missing info. If you want the most up-to-date details, it’s better to check straight from the source. I used when I was looking, since they have direct MLS listings—so you get real-time updates and sometimes even see houses before they show up anywhere else. It made the search way less frustrating for me.

I mostly just browse listings out of curiosity, but I’ve noticed sometimes houses disappear from one site and not another. Didn’t realize there was a difference behind the scenes, honestly.
