For me anything that’s personal or custom or made just for me is something I expect from a specialist. So when someone tells me that some weight loss app created a personalized meal plan I immediately think about everyone else using the same app. Personalized for each one of them?

Even then modern apps give way more variety in meal plans. Me and my friend both use and we each asked for a plan and they came out totally different even though we picked similar foods. I think newer apps that use AI actually go off all the info you give them and try to build something that really is personal.
