How many employees do early stage startups have?
First, I’ll give a different view on the definition of a startup. Let’s call a startup a company who (typically) takes venture capital (VC) investment. This differs from a traditional new business venture, as the startup is obtaining a larger investment, and at a somewhat higher cost, for the ability to grow and scale much faster, vs. a traditional new business that will only get as much in loans (from bank or others) that they can reasonably be expected to pay back with their operating profit. This might look like growing in 6 months to a year, what a traditional business would grow in 5 years.
