How often should you check if everything is okay with your plumbing?
Do you even need to check it at all? In my family, the rule was to call a plumber only when there was an obvious reason, like a leaking faucet, a bolt coming loose, a leaking pipe, and so on. These days plumbers offer a lot more services, including seasonal inspections. Are they actually worth it?

It kind of makes sense to check while everything seems fine, or at least there are no visible problems, and make sure everything really is okay. It's a lot easier and cheaper than calling a plumber when your whole floor is covered in water.

I haven't really gotten used to the idea that it's better to check things in advance than fix them after something goes wrong. It feels like people here are used to doing things differently, but now preventive inspections are being promoted a lot, and there are all kinds of checklists like to see whether there's anything to worry about or not. I think it really does make sense, and it's better to spend time on an inspection than spend time and money on repairs.
