I wouldn’t change the whole topic every time you find an interesting new idea. That can turn into an endless cycle of rewriting your research question. I looked at when I was trying to figure this out, but what helped me was discussing the new ideas with my supervisor first. Some may fit as smaller sections or recommendations without forcing you to rebuild the entire dissertation.
