Tips for Safe Pier Use

by toxatyt » Sun Apr 27, 2025 8:44 pm

I am new to water sports and use the pier at Lake Travis a lot. It would be helpful to know what precautions to take when using the pier at Northshore Marina to avoid any unpleasant situations. What safety rules apply to new and experienced pier users?

Pier safety is not only common sense, but also knowledge. It is especially important to understand how to properly moor when there is a current, wind, or other boats nearby. If you are just starting out or just want to refresh your knowledge, I recommend visiting the site https://northshoremarinahollows.com/ . There you can find useful tips on safe navigation and behavior on the water. For me personally, this was a great source of practical advice. The marina emphasizes safety - and this is felt in every aspect of the organization.

The pier is an area where safety is especially important. Slippery surfaces, the movement of people and boats require attention. Even experienced users should follow basic rules: do not run, use life jackets and keep an eye on children. Simple measures help to avoid trouble.
