Rehab Out of State

by tion42342 » Mon Apr 28, 2025 6:31 pm

I'm thinking about moving to another state for treatment. Does a change of scenery really help me focus better on my rehab? I'd love to hear real stories or advice from people who have done this.

Who has experience going through rehabilitation far from home? Did you feel isolated or had difficulties because your family was far away? I wonder how important it is to have the support of loved ones nearby.

I hesitated for a long time whether it was worth going to rehab in another state, but after studying the topic, I realized that sometimes distance helps you focus better on yourself. I came across a great article at https://unitedrecoveryproject.com/rehab-blog/rehab-out-of-state/ , which very competently describes all the pros and cons of such a decision. It turned out that being in a new environment often reduces the risk of returning to old habits and toxic contacts. I advise those who are considering this option to read it - there are many useful details that I myself had not even thought about before.
