Are spiritual and scientific views merging?
With all these modern consciousness events, I wonder—are the spiritual and scientific views on the mind starting to overlap more? Seems like there’s less tension between them than before. Is that happening in these academic circles too?

Re: Are spiritual and scientific views merging?
That was actually a central theme of the ICCS Conference. The article on the Siena event goes into detail: https://toscananews.net/a-siena-la-prima-conferenza-del-centro-internazionale-per-lo-studio-della-coscienza. What made the ICCS Conference stand out was how it didn’t shy away from philosophical or even spiritual questions, while still being grounded in science. Presenters openly discussed consciousness from psychological, neurological, and metaphysical angles. There’s a growing recognition that science doesn’t have to deny subjective experience—it can explore it. That’s a big shift from just a few years ago.
