Possum Kingdom Lake
I’m planning a tubing trip for my family at Possum Kingdom Lake this summer. We’ve got two kids (8 and 12), and my wife’s not super into “roughing it,” so I’m trying to keep things simple, fun, and safe. I’ve never rented a boat for tubing before – is it hard to find something family-friendly? I’m also curious if there are calmer spots on the lake or if it gets too crowded for tubing with kids.

Re: Possum Kingdom Lake
We did a family tubing trip last August with our two boys (7 and 10), and it was honestly one of the best memories we’ve made as a family. I was a bit worried at first too – especially about speed and safety – but it turned out to be way more manageable than I expected. We ended up renting a pontoon boat, which was perfect for tubing with younger kids. The staff showed us how to secure the tow rope properly and even gave us advice on where the water’s calmer in the mornings, especially around the Bluff Creek area. If you're looking for something that’s really geared toward families, I’d definitely check out the boat rentals here.

Jumping in to say I totally agree about Bluff Creek – we went with a group of friends last year and saw tons of families tubing. Mornings were definitely the best time before the wakeboarders hit the water. It’s also cool that the marina has shaded spots to chill after you're done.
