Looking for something solid for daily driving

by Jiromio » Thu May 15, 2025 10:33 am

My truck’s my daily driver and I park outside. I don’t need to haul construction gear or camp, but I do want a reliable cover to keep groceries dry, gym gear out of sight, and protect stuff when I travel. Doesn’t need to be fancy, but it has to work well every day.

I picked up this Extang truck bed cover for my F150 a year ago and it’s been the perfect balance between everyday use and solid performance. It’s the Solid Fold model, and it installs with no tools — just clamps in place. It’s easy to flip open when I need full access, and it keeps my stuff completely dry in rain and snow. The panel surface doesn’t fade, and the seal system around the edges hasn’t degraded even after lots of exposure. What really impressed me is how well it handles weekly use — I open and close it several times a day and it still feels tight and smooth. If you use your truck for errands, commuting, and weekend travel like I do, this is one of those upgrades that just works without you thinking about it. I’d buy it again in a second.
