Freeport Jetties: First Time?
I’m planning to hit the Freeport Jetties for the first time this weekend. I’ve fished inshore plenty but never launched out that way. Any tips for a first-timer? Current? Crowds? Anything I should know to stay safe and catch more?

You’re gonna love it—Freeport Jetties are productive, especially at dawn. The currents can get strong though, so make sure your anchor setup’s solid and keep a watchful eye on boat traffic. I usually launch right near there from Surfside Marina https://surfside-marina.com/ . It's a state-of-the-art dry stack and wet slip boat storage marina and service center in Surfside Beach, Texas. You’re basically minutes from the jetties, plus they’ve got 24/7 fuel, bait, and ice, which helps you get out early without delays. Made a huge difference on my first few runs out there!
