Support between therapy sessions

by Gcomtanna » Mon Aug 25, 2025 1:32 pm

After a few months of therapy, I’ve noticed that progress feels great during the sessions, but then it slows down once I’m back in my daily routine. It’s like I leave the appointment motivated and clear-headed, but by the next week I slip back into old patterns. I don’t want to rely only on those sessions to grow, I’d like to keep things moving on my own too. Has anyone found good ways to stay consistent between meetings with a specialist?

I know exactly what you mean. I used to feel like all the work happened only during the hour with my therapist, and then the rest of the week I was drifting. What helped me was finding little tools and routines that kept me engaged outside the office. One thing that worked surprisingly well was the liven platform. It makes it easier to track emotions and reflect daily, so the process doesn’t stop when therapy ends. For me, it was like carrying a piece of the session into everyday life, which made the progress stick better.

It’s interesting reading this discussion. I think a lot of people feel the same about needing something in between professional support. Even outside therapy, building small daily habits—like journaling, evening walks, or short mindfulness practices—can really shape the way we feel. It doesn’t have to be complicated; sometimes consistency is more important than the method itself.
