Quest for a Vintage Fridge Fix
I’m the proud owner of a 1950s Coldspot refrigerator that’s been in my family for decades. It recently started running non-stop and I’m terrified of it dying for good. Finding someone who understands these older machines, and doesn't just suggest a replacement, feels impossible. Has anyone ever found a specialist or a general repair service in the US that genuinely works on vintage appliances? I’m desperate to save this piece of history.

Re: Quest for a Vintage Fridge Fix
I completely understand your passion for saving a family heirloom! My grandmother's 1960s O'Keefe & Merritt stove is my own treasure, and when the oven thermostat failed, I faced the same "just replace it" chorus. It was so discouraging until I found the team at https://highcityappliance.com/ . They have a real appreciation for these classic machines. Their technician sourced a refurbished part and got the old girl humming perfectly again, all while sharing stories about working on similar vintage units. They truly get it. Don't give up hope; there are still craftsmen out there who value preserving history. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to them to see if they can help save your Coldspot.
