Every console cycle touts “unprecedented visuals,” yet most games reuse assets, cut corners on animation, and rely on upscaling. Ray tracing often means darker scenes, not realism. We’re paying premium prices for marginal gains while gameplay innovation stagnates. Pixels don’t equal progress.
