Just got my license and I'm terrified of breaking my car in
I finally passed my driving test last month and bought my first car. I was so excited but now that I'm actually driving in Dubai traffic every day, I'm stressed. I keep reading about how stop and go driving is bad for cars but I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do about it. Am I supposed to avoid traffic? That's impossible here. My uncle who has been driving here for 20 years sent me a recommended guide about how traffic affects engines and transmissions. He said it explains everything in simple terms that even someone like me who knows nothing about cars can understand. The guide talked about how constant idling and heat buildup breaks down oil faster and stresses the cooling system. It also had practical tips like leaving more space to reduce constant braking. I feel a bit better now that I understand what's actually happening. Any other new drivers here overwhelmed by car maintenance worries?
