Cirrhosis – anyone tried regenerative medicine abroad?
My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis (NASH) about 18 months ago. He’s following all the recommendations but his ALT/AST still creep up slowly and platelets keep dropping. Local doctors only offer diuretics when ascites appears. I’ve come across mentions of stem cell or regenerative treatments in other countries that supposedly improve liver function. Does anyone have real experience (positive or negative) with this kind of therapy?

Re: Cirrhosis – anyone tried regenerative medicine abroad?
My cousin went through something similar two years ago. He didn’t get a miracle reversal, but after the regenerative protocol his energy came back noticeably, jaundice disappeared, and his MELD score dropped by 4 points within 8 months (they combined it with very strict diet and meds). He says the key was choosing a place that does proper pre- and post-monitoring, not just the injection and goodbye.
This page has quite a realistic description of one treatment course, including before/after labs https://stemplus.clinic/disease-treatment/cirrhosis/ – helped me understand what to actually expect and which questions to ask the clinic. Of course it’s expensive and not covered by insurance, so it’s a big decision.
