I am a physician in Stavanger and my wife is a nurse. She reads this forum when she prepares for his exams, and I have started reading it too, so I hope the general section is right for a question like this.

We are buying a house in Cyprus. Not to move for good, at least not now. The plan is the winters. From November it is dark here by four in the afternoon and it rains most days, and we both work a lot of nights, so we want a warm place that is ours and stands empty until we come.

Paphos won after two trips. The second one we did in February on purpose, to see the town out of season, and it was still fine, buses ran, the market was open. Now the shortlist is four houses, all in the same two areas, and I keep them in a notebook where I write the price next to each one every month. Since March I have been going through https://tranio.com/cyprus/paphos/detached/ every Sunday for that, and by now I know the street names by heart.

The part I have no feeling for is when to go. October is possible for both of us, or we wait until spring.

Has anyone here bought abroad while still working full time at home? How did you do the trips, one long week or several short ones?
