Practising Follow-Up Questions Before an Interview
I’m preparing for an interview in English and realised that memorising standard answers probably isn’t enough. The first question is usually manageable because I can prepare for it in advance, but the follow-up questions are much harder. For example, I might prepare a detailed answer about my previous experience, and then the interviewer could immediately ask me to explain one specific situation or give an example. That is where I tend to lose my confidence and start speaking too slowly. Fluently has a mock interview mode that lets you practise this kind of situation because the AI interviewer can ask follow-up questions rather than simply moving through a fixed list. I like that approach because it forces me to listen carefully and respond instead of repeating something I memorised beforehand. The feedback after the conversation also helps me notice pronunciation mistakes and phrases that could sound more natural. Fluently
