What is the power consumption of an induction cooker?
To answer this, all we have to do is look at the power rating of induction cookers available in the market.
Most of the induction cookers come in the wattage range of 1300 watts to 2100 watts. (Most popular ones have more than 1800 watts power rating). This means that after one hour of usage, 1800 watt cooktop will use 1.8 units of power.
However, please note that power consumption of induction also depends these factors:
Many induction cooktops come with different power settings for different cooking requirements. You will not use maximum power every time. For example, cooking rice in 1.5 liter pan can be done easily in 10 minutes if you set power to 900 watts, which is 50% less power as compared to total power rating of induction cooktop (of a 1800-watt power induction cooktop).
Just like any other electrical appliance, induction stove can consume power even when it is turned off. This is called phantom load or standby electricity. To prevent this, you should turn off the power from the switch on the electric board.

Re: What is the power consumption of an induction cooker?
Hi. I have 3 kids and my wife cooks a lot. I needed a safe stove and was advised to buy an invisible induction hob. All areas outside the active cooking zones can be used for cooking as the unique design means that only the area directly underneath the cookware being used is heated. So there is virtually zero risk of burning yourself, which is why I ordered the induction hob.
