Is it worth going to Possum Kingdom Lake for fishing?
Hi everyone!
My friends and I were thinking about where to go for the weekend with tents and fishing rods. They recommended Possum Kingdom Lake - they say it has gorgeous nature and great fishing. But there is little information on the Internet, mostly general words. Who has actually been there - tell me, is it worth going? What are the catches there in the summer? Is it possible to catch something standing on the shore, or is there nothing to do without a boat

I was there literally a month ago - one of the best places in Texas for fishing. Here is an excellent resource where everything is described about fishing at possum kingdom lake. There are plenty of fish: striped bass, white bass, crappie, large catfish. We fished near Devil's Island - there are depths and shelters for fish, a great place. You can do it without boat, but not as effectively. The fish were biting great on live bait, especially in the evening. At night we caught catfish - chicken liver worked great. The area is large, there are tent sites, we were camping near the water. It is safe, there are a lot of people, but not crowded. The nature is beautiful, the water is clean - a great option for a weekend.

I confirm, the lake is really popular. I was there last summer, the catch was average, but the process itself and the atmosphere are super. Even without boat, you can find good places, especially closer to the morning. The water is cool, it is easy to breathe. For a vacation with tents - a great place.
