Choosing the Right Path Surface
Hi! I'm thinking about updating my driveway and want to make it more stylish and durable. What paving options are best for the North York climate to ensure it lasts and looks beautiful?

Re: Choosing the Right Path Surface
Hi! I recently renovated my driveway too. I've heard that it's important to properly prepare the base and choose high-quality materials. Does anyone have experience with different types of pavers in the North American climate? Should I choose a smoother or textured surface?

Re: Choosing the Right Path Surface
I enjoyed experimenting with different pavers, which I found here https://oakshs.ca/north-york-interlocking-services/, and ultimately settled on medium-sized pavers with a textured surface they hold their shape well and are non-slip in winter. A month before laying, I carefully prepared the base and installed drainage to prevent standing water. During the process, I learned the importance of considering the path's slope and the compatibility of the material with existing landscape elements. After laying, I regularly add sand to the joints—this prolongs the lifespan and maintains a neat appearance. Overall, the result is very harmonious and durable, and now the path is pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate.
