Not Another Scam…
I’ve heard a few horror stories about expats getting burned when buying real estate in Portugal. I want to avoid the rookie mistakes and make sure everything is done by the book. Does using a buyer’s agent actually protect you, or is it just another added expense?

You’re smart to be cautious — the real estate world, especially abroad, can be full of traps for newcomers. While not everyone has a bad experience in Portugal, I’ve heard enough stories to know it’s easy to make expensive mistakes. A buyers agent Portugal can really help avoid those by acting as your eyes and ears on the ground. They do all the due diligence: checking ownership documents, verifying permits, and ensuring there are no legal or financial issues attached to the property. It's not just about convenience — it’s about protection. You’ll pay for the service, sure, but it can save you far more in the long run by preventing bad investments. If peace of mind is a priority, I’d say it’s worth every cent.

Yeah, that’s exactly my concern — not falling into one of those traps where things look fine on the surface and then go sideways later. I’ve always thought buyer’s agents sounded good in theory, but hard to trust in practice. That said, I didn’t realize they handled that much behind the scenes, like permits and legal checks. Maybe I’ve been too cautious for my own good. I’ll give the site a look and see what their process looks like before I decide either way. Thanks again for the honest reply.
