The risks of stablecoins?

by Horrius » Fri Aug 22, 2025 9:24 pm

Why do I constantly get confused about how stablecoins differ from conventional digital currencies in the context of global payments, how this affects my experience of paying for goods and services, and what risks may I overlook if I use Mastercard's new tools without a deep understanding?

I often find myself confused about the differences between stablecoins and conventional digital currencies, especially when it comes to global payments. It is difficult for me to understand how this affects my experience of paying for goods and services, and what risks I may not notice when using the new Mastercard tools. I liked how the article on https://en.cryptonomist.ch/2025/04/29/mastercard-and-stablecoin-the-revolution-of-digital-payments/ explains the introduction of stablecoins into the payment network, shows real examples and helps to better understand the security and convenience of digital transactions. This makes me feel more confident in managing my finances.
