What do you think about the new NBA transition take foul rul
Hey everyone, have you seen the updated NBA rules for 2025/26? They’ve adjusted the penalty for transition take fouls again — now it's 2 free throws and the ball back, even if it’s unintentional.

Yeah I read about it! Honestly, I’m all for it. I hated how teams would just foul in the open court and ruin exciting plays. Now players actually think twice before reaching. But I do think refs are calling it a bit inconsistently in preseason. I saw one where the defender clearly went for the ball and still got hit with the take foul.

Exactly! That’s my issue too. Like, how do you define intent in a split-second play? Also — side note — during halftime yesterday I randomly ended up checking out a kabaddi match today live while flipping channels. Never watched one before but it’s kinda hype?? Weirdly addicting in a chaotic way haha.

LMAO love how you went from NBA rules to kabaddi mid-convo
But yeah, I’ve seen clips on YouTube — it’s intense. Like wrestling-meets-tag. Back to the rule — I just hope players adapt quickly. Fast breaks are part of what makes the NBA fun to watch, and this rule should help protect that.

Tbh, I support it too. Tired of teams killing momentum with cheap fouls. Let the game flow. And yo… kabaddi's actually fire? Might have to check that stream next time I’m bored during a slow game night

Yesss do it, you’ll thank me later haha. But yeah, final thought — rule’s good in theory, but they need to clean up how it’s enforced. Otherwise it’s just gonna lead to more coach challenges and stoppages.

Totally agree. Let’s see how it plays out once the regular season starts. I think it’ll balance out by mid-season — NBA’s usually decent at adjusting.
