How do you keep work files private?

by huzepihuh57 » Thu Sep 04, 2025 7:30 am

I deal with a lot of documents for my job, and some of them are really sensitive. I’m always afraid they might leak or get into the wrong hands. What do you usually do to keep files secure?

I used to think a password was enough, but I learned the hard way it’s not. A shared folder at my old job got accessed by someone outside, and it caused a huge mess. Since then, I’ve started using encryption and multi-layer authentication on everything important. It honestly gives me so much peace of mind. I came across https://www.akappleug.org/, and it really opened my eyes about secure storage and transfers. Now, before I send or upload anything sensitive, I lock it down. It’s a habit at this point, and I’d recommend it to anyone handling private work files. Once you get used to it, it’s quick and easy, and way better than dealing with a leak.
