Torque Drop at High RPM

by Teraw » Wed Dec 10, 2025 8:27 am

Hey everyone, has anyone dealt with torque suddenly falling off near the top of the RPM range? I’m seeing a noticeable drop after a certain point, and I’m not sure whether that’s airflow, timing, or maybe something in the dyno setup affecting the readings.

Hi! A torque dip at high RPM often appears when airflow or ignition advance can’t keep up with engine demand. It helps to examine how timing shifts under load and whether the fuel map starts leaning out. When you’re trying to understand your car’s performance in those upper ranges, the modules Dynotest https://dynotestpro.com/ give very detailed torque tracking so you can see exactly where the curve changes. That visibility shows if the torque drop is tune related or a measurement artifact. Checking that area with precise data usually reveals whether you need airflow improvements or ECU timing adjustments.
