My site looks fine but conversion is terrible

by Dbdip » Thu Dec 11, 2025 11:32 am

I’ve spent a ton of time making my business website look modern and slick, but it’s just not converting visitors. The bounce rate is high, and almost no one clicks the ‘Contact Us’ button. I’ve checked the copy and the offer, which seem solid. It feels like there might be some fundamental web design mistakes I’m making that are hurting the user experience without me realizing it. Has anyone else been in this rut and found a clear checklist of what to audit?

Absolutely been there. It’s incredibly frustrating when the aesthetics are on point but the mechanics are off. Often, the issue isn't one big thing but a combination of several common, performance-killing errors. Things like a cluttered layout that overwhelms visitors, a confusing navigation structure, slow loading times (especially on mobile), or weak, unclear calls-to-action can silently sabotage even the prettiest site. I found a really thorough and practical article that breaks down the top 10 of these pitfalls. It’s not just a list—it explains why each mistake hurts and gives actionable fixes. I’d recommend checking out this guide on common web design mistakes to systematically audit your site.
