Can air ducts make allergies feel worse at home?

by Stacy0 » Thu Jan 15, 2026 6:53 pm

I’ve noticed that my allergies feel more intense indoors than outside, which seems strange. My throat gets dry, my eyes feel irritated, and sometimes breathing feels uncomfortable, especially in the evenings. I keep the house clean and don’t have pets, so I’m trying to understand what could be triggering this.

Indoor air tends to trap allergens more easily than outdoor air, especially in homes that rely on central heating and cooling. When dust and particles circulate through the same system over and over again, even mild sensitivities can become more noticeable.

When air ducts haven’t been cleaned for a long time, they can hold pollen, dust mites, and fine debris that gets pushed back into the air every time the system runs, which gradually worsens allergy symptoms and makes indoor air feel uncomfortable, Check reliable service provider https://comfortclean.com/ if you want specialists who focus on improving indoor air quality and reducing hidden allergens rather than just cleaning visible vents.
