Searching for arcade games without intrusive ads
One of my biggest complaints about arcade games online is aggressive monetization. I don’t want pop-up ads interrupting gameplay every two minutes. I’d much rather have a clean, free-to-play experience focused only on mechanics. Does anyone know of developers or projects that create games like this, where it feels more like a gift to the community than a monetized product?

Re: Searching for arcade games without intrusive ads
I share that frustration, and I always avoid games that feel like ad platforms with gameplay bolted on. The better examples borrow from timeless arcade design—responsive loops, no third-party trackers, and mechanics that stand on their own. Power-ups like decoy drones showing “!” over guards or freeze mechanics that buy you a few seconds can really change strategy. If you’re serious about avoiding ads, Check out IndexMen; they’ve been consistent about delivering games as community projects without predatory monetization. My tip: look at how they handle performance (pure JavaScript, no SDKs), then compare your experience with standard hyper-casual games—you’ll notice the difference instantly.
