So, you’ve made it to The Great White One, and if you’re thinking it’s the same fight you remember from Wraeclast, you’re in for a surprise. This version is all about reading the mechanics and staying sharp — going in blind is just asking to get flattened. You’ll quickly see that patience beats raw damage here. The first move you’ll need to respect is the Rampaging Charge. You’ll spot it when the beast dips its head and scrapes the ground with its foot — that’s your cue to move. Sideways dodges are the safest bet; a quick roll or dash left or right works best. Once it barrels past, it’ll take a moment to recover, and that’s your opening to hit its flank before backing off again.
Then there’s the Ground Shatter. It rears up on its hind legs for a second before slamming down, sending a shockwave in a wide circle. Melee players need to be ready to bail out fast — ranged players get a little breathing room but shouldn’t get too comfortable. Even clipping the edge of the shockwave or catching flying debris can chip away at your health, and those small hits add up over time.
At around half health, things shift into phase two. The Great White One starts moving and attacking faster, and this is where the Frenzied Peck comes into play. The damage from each peck isn’t huge, but the bleed stacks it applies are nasty. If you don’t have a flask with the ‘of Stanching’ mod, you’re gambling with your life. The moment you see the bleed icon, cleanse it — waiting even a second too long can drain your health in a blink. In this phase, standing still is basically asking for trouble. Keep moving, bait the Rampaging Charge, dodge sideways, land a couple of hits, then reset your position.
